Vaporization

Vaporization is a process whereby an element or compound transitions from liquid phase to gas phase. While the mCig does not vaporize in the classic sense, it heats plant material and waxes to extract for inhalation the active ingredients of plant material without combustion.

This is in our view a superior form of plant consumption as it provides an alternative to burning (smoking) avoiding almost entirely the inhalation of many irritating toxic and carcinogenic by-products as well as second hand smoke.

Scientific studies have shown that vaporizing plant material exposes the user to lower levels of harmful substances than smoking.

A study conducted by the University of California San Francisco published in the Journal of the American Academy of Neurology examined the efficacy of a vaporizer (not the mCig) that heats cannabis to a temperature between 180 °C (356 °F) and 200 °C (392 °F) degrees and found:

“Using CO as an indicator, there was virtually no exposure to harmful combustion products using the vaporizing device. Since it replicates smoking’s efficiency at producing the desired THC effect using smaller amounts of the active ingredient as opposed to pill forms, this device has great potential for improving the therapeutic utility of THC.”
