The CO2 extraction process allows compounds to be extracted with little damage and low toxicity. Using a high-pressure vessel, CO2 is inserted into the vessel, and pumped through a filter where it is separated from the plant matter once the pressure is released. The CO2 evaporates and is dissolved into the cannabinoids.
Unlike traditional butane-based extraction systems, the CO2 method of extraction allows us to isolate only the purest essence of the cannabis flower. Because CO2 is a pure, naturally occurring compound, it is a major advantage to use it over other solvents used for plant extraction, including butane.
